Impact Assessment Analyst

The Impact Assessment Analyst is a critical role responsible for building and managing the internal systems that measure Terratai’s success in protecting and restoring at-risk ecosystems.

You will bridge the gap between high-level impact monitoring and the day-to-day data reality of early-stage nature-based ventures. Your goal is to move the organization from framework design to a functional, audit-ready data engine that informs investment strategies and donor reporting.

This position reports directly to the CEO.

  • Support implementation of our impact monitoring framework: Work with ventures to collect and track impact data and support our reporting to partners and investors.
  • Conduct data-driven research: Lead research efforts to measure and analyze impacts on biodiversity, ecosystems, and local communities.
  • Develop & manage data systems: Collect, map, and maintain datasets related to environmental metrics and biodiversity indicators.
  • Support investment strategies: Propose innovative solutions, such as ecosystem service valuation, carbon emission reduction methods, or incentives for sustainable practices into our investment assessment process.

EXPERIENCE & TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • At least 5 years’ work experience in relevant fields, with experience of establishing monitoring and evaluation frameworks and research study design.

  • A good understanding of current best practice, tools and indicators for the measurement of nature and biodiversity impact, including but not limited to, carbon, biodiversity, ecosystem services, GHG mitigation and avoidance.

  • A passion to solve conservation challenges in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

  • Proficiency in GIS and remote sensing programs and systems (ArcGIS, Google Earth Engine etc.).

  • Experience of delivering and/or managing research teams in Indonesia.

SECTOR & IMPACT ALIGNMENT

  • Background in sustainability, impact investing, or nature-based solutions.

  • Familiarity with blended finance structures, catalytic capital, or concessional instruments.

  • Experience with Southeast Asian markets or emerging market deal contexts.

  • Exposure to MRV frameworks, carbon crediting, or ecosystem services valuation.

  • Demonstrated interest or experience in nature-based solutions, sustainable agriculture, or environmental sectors.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex data requirements into actionable guidance for founders.

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • High level of initiative, ownership, and comfort operating in a lean, fast-moving team.

EDUCATION & OTHER

  • Bachelor’s degree in conservation science, ecology, biology or related fields; advanced degree preferred.

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Willingness to be based in Bali and travel as needed.
